Lord Gauranga, the Golden Avatar , who is directly the Supreme Personality of Godhead , Sri Krishna Himself , appeared just over 500 years ago in India , and He predicted that His name would be sung in every town and village throughout the world. He inaugurated the sankirtan movement , the congregational chanting of the holy names of God , as the yuga -dharma, the religion for this Golden Age. His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada , who brought this movement of Krishna consciousness to the west in the mid 1960 s , said that it is meant for the "respiritualization of the entire human society " and that the result of awakening our dormant love for Krishna " will be the imperishable satisfaction of the soul , both individually and collectively . " So this is the real liberation movement , the SLF , the Supreme Liberation Front , the Gauranga Revolution, bringing about a revolution in consciousness. Although revolution means to bring about radical change, all other so-called revolutions this world has known , whether Industrial , French , Russian , Cultural etc., have not brought about radical change - they have simply replaced one form of tyranny with another since they have not addressed the issue of real liberation , the liberation of the soul from the bodily conception of life , liberation from the shackles of illusion.
